Aeonium Aureum (Green Rose Buds)

Aeonium Aureum

Aeonium Aureum (previously know as Greenovia) is a monocarpic succulent plant (flowers once before death). If your Aureum has flowered it will need to be propagated from all of its offsets and start afresh.

Its common name ‘Green Rose Buds‘ really sums up its appearance. As the plant goes into its summer dormancy period, it becomes more and more true to its name, closing in on itself to look like tight rose buds. It is a beautiful addition to any succulent garden bed but beware – it is also another tightly bunched succulent that will need to be checked regularly for mealy bug as there are sooo many places to hide!
