Senecio is reasonably pest tolerant and can be grown from seed or from cuttings. I have found that most of my senecio have not succumb to mealy bug or scale yet and I’ve been happily growing them for over 2 years. Although it is said that senecio are ‘summer dormant’ succulents, I have found this season that it is not the case. All of my senecio cuttings done in the heart of summer have struck beautifully and grown several cm in length.
