Pachyveria Glauca (Blue Tongue)

Pachyveria_Blue_Tongue

Pachyveria’s tend to be more on the chubby side, they are a hybrid that is a cross between a Pachyphytum and an Echeveria. Blue Tongue can grow up to 20cm in diameter and reproduce via ‘pups.’ They are reasonably pest free but if infected, they tend to get scale more so than mealy bugs. Depending on the season Blue Tongue will change it’s colour from a green/blue through to a deep blue with pink flushes on the edges of the leaves. Pachyveria is a winter grower created by an Australian grower, Dave Poulgrain.
