Robusta is an epiphytic cactus, the flowers are small yellow-white and cover the entire plant in late winter to early spring. In Brisbane the flowers buds begin to show around early June. All of the succulent padded leaves are linked together forming different patterns and shapes as they grow. As it is a ‘jungle’ type cactus, it will thrive in a bright indirect light position (never expose to full sun). In the right conditions over a 2 year period this specimen has grown 5 times larger than when it was first purchased. It does not cope with drought so ensure you keep up the water at least once a week in summer, sometimes maybe even twice if the temperatures are high. Do not water in the heat of the day.
