Senecio Articulatus (Candle Plant)
Common names include ‘Candle Plant’ or ‘Hot Dog Cactus’ this evergreen perennial can grow up to 60cm tall. Many Senecio varieties generally flower late Autumn through winter, candle plant seems to begin flowering early Autumn and through the Winter season. They have a tubular form and seem to loose their leaves in the hotter months becoming more representative of their common name ‘Candle Plant.’ The taller they grow they can become quite floppy and start to bend over therefore, a good trim back in their growing season is necessary to keep them looking their best.
