Verticle Leaf Senecio (Senecio crassissimus)

Senecio crassissimus can grow up to 60 cm tall and up to 45 cm wide, with thick purple stems up to 5 cm long with waxy silver-grey leaves and purple margins, facing outwards. In winter, the inflorescence can rise up to 60 cm, bearing bright yellow daisy-like flowers in early Spring. The flowers resemble daisies as they are actually in the same family ‘Asteraceae.’ There are many succulent and non succulent varieties in the same family. 

Vertical Leaf Senecio can tolerate full sun however it is happiest in morning sun, afternoon shade.

Senecio is a winter active succulent therefore growth can be seen mostly from late autumn all the way through to early spring.
